Anti Wrinkle Agent

Anti Wrinkle Agent is a simple non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type to be approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Many facial wrinkles occur when we make repeated facial expressions. Anti Wrinkle Agent is a purified protein, produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause frown lines between the brows to form over time. Anti Wrinkle Agent works to relax the tiny facial muscles that cause these undesirable facial expressions, and, once the muscle is relaxed, you cannot contract it, thus preventing the formation of lines.

Anti Wrinkle Agent will not radically change your appearance nor make you look like you've had a facelift. It will not make you look twenty years younger and it will not "freeze" your facial expressions. However, Anti Wrinkle Agent does soften lines noticeably and it only works where you want it to. It does not travel throughout your body and does not remain in your body indefinitely.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are popular treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. A dermal filler procedure helps to 'fill out' and smooth away troublesome:

Nose to Mouth Grooves

Forehead Lines

Frown Furrows

Lipstick Lines

Acne Puts

Crows Feet

Dermal fillers are also effective for increasing fullness to narrow lips, enhancing sunken cheeks and can even be used to contour the bridge of the nose.

Dermal filler treatments can be very quick and effective and have a minimal impact on your time. It takes 20-40 minutes depending on the number of lines and wrinkles treated. Make-up can be applied immediately after a dermal filler treatment and you can go straight back to work. It is common to have some redness and swelling following the treatment, although this usually resolves after a few hours and the results can be seen instantly.

As a result of a local anaesthetic block all fillers in the lips can be done without any pain.  This  will allow us to design the shape of the lips that will suit your facial structure.

Dermal Filler Types  There are a wide variety of dermal fillers available and our fully qualified cosmetic physicians will be able to advise you on the best product for you. At Ashbrooke Mosman we have doctor injectors only.

Ultherapy

Voted the most innovative technology to hit the aesthetics market in the last 5 years, Ultherapy is the world's first Ultrasound face-lifting technology. Often touted as The One women have been waiting for all their lives, Ultherapy relies on high intensity ultrasound to non-invasively contract facial skin and stimulate collagen growth, resulting in a younger, more lifted appearance. Results are evident after 1-2 simple sessions.

Lifting skin without surgery

The Ashbrooke Clinic is a pioneer for Ulthera in Sydney.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a breakthrough procedure that uses medical ultrasound for non-surgical cosmetic improvement of the skin. Ultherapy works deep below the surface without harming the outer layer of skin for dramatic and long-lasting benefits of facial firming, skin tightening and super-lifting. Improvements around the eyes include lifting of the brow line to reduce droopiness on the eyelids, smoothing of crows feet, and a more open, refreshed look to the eyes in general. Sagging skin on the cheeks can be tightened and lifted, which in turn can improve folds from the nose to mouth, folds from the mouth to jaw, and drooping corners of the mouth. A more defined jaw line and overall improvements in skin texture and evenness of color can be additional benefits.

How does it work?

As with other ultrasound procedures, a smooth applicator placed upon your skin projects an image onto a screen. This same applicator is then used to deliver low levels of focused heat at just the right depth below the skin to achieve a positive effect, leaving the surface of your skin undisturbed.

Your skin's response to the energy is to stimulate the growth of new collagen over time. A gradual tightening occurs, ultimately resulting in a natural lift and conditioning of the skin over time.

How is this procedure different from other non-surgical skin tightening procedures?

Ultherapy is the only skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound to image and treat the skin. The ability to utilize an established technology — to both see below the skin and then treat it with great precision — helps ensure both safety and satisfying results.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients will see good results after 1-2 treatments. This will be determined by your doctor. In addition, your doctor will schedule follow-up visits to take photographs and track your progress.

What does it feel like?

Ultherapy is a very comfortable procedure. No injection anaesthesia is required. Patients may feel a prickling or warm sensation beneath the skin when the ultrasound energy is being delivered into the tissue. This is how Ultherapy lifts and tightens the skin from deep within, delivering dramatic and long lasting facial lifting effects.

What areas of the face and neck are treated?

Ulthera can be done on any part of your face including the forehead, the temples, the mid and lower face, jaw line and the neck is also treated. The most popular treatment is the full face and neck treatment which gives patients the maximal visible benefits. During your consultation, your doctor can tailor a treatment plan for you.

What kind of results can I expect?

The regenerative process is initiated right away so some patients may be able to see immediate lifting of the skin. However, the full effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months and some patients will see optimal results only after a few months.

In the FDA clinical trial, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in a more open look to the eyes and a more youthful appearance overall. Patients also reported firmer, tighter, better-fitting skin in other areas of the face and neck as well. A smoother texture and more even skin color are also possible side benefits.

What can I expect afterwards?

Ultherapy takes 30 minutes. You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and you can put on makeup if needed. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear in a matter of hours.

How long do the results last?

Of course, your skin will continue its natural aging process, so you may need to schedule additional treatments over time to maintain your results. Some patients may want to repeat their treatments every year; others may want to repeat the treatment after a longer interval. The doctor will be able to help you make that decision during your follow-ups.

Can anyone have the treatment?

Ulthera is safe for all skin types. Any patient who has experienced some sagging of their skin will benefit from this treatment. It is likely that if your sagging is severe, you may need a repeat treatment for optimal results. A good candidate is someone with skin that has ‘relaxed’ to the point of looking less firm. A lowered brow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. The doctors will evaluate if you are an appropriate candidate at the time of your consultation.

Revitalizing Threads

The ageing process begins to be visible during the thirties; the connective tissue thins and collagen and elastic fibres break down. Along with sagging of the tissue, folds and deep wrinkles start appearing, meaning an inner change to the skin support structure.  Unique and patented threads, each with specially designed barbs, which gently move sagging tissues up and then suspend them through a special technique allowing the doctor to realise a relaxed and fresh but natural appearance. The aim of this procedure is not to replace a conventional facelift, but rather to establish a minimal approach to a more youthful looking appearance.
